Hi V,
Why is samadhi equated to deep sleep? I am aware of the silent stillness as the background to my sittings but I am very much awake and active.
Hi Embee,
To be aware of the silent stillness and to become the silent stillness are two very different stages of the path. This is a function of continued surrender and grace.
Once there is a transition, the experience can be akin to deep sleep. However, its not a blank. There is a full aware wakefullness accompanied by a very subtle bliss and total rest. The doership increasingly disappears when not in meditation. We go from mindfulness to being totally mindless…. in a good way… in flow. And therefore the mind cannot conceptualise it…. as it is not present here. But it doesnt need to… it is not the one that brings about this state.
The I Am in the I Am That falls away. It is seen that there is only That.
