I keep getting lost in visions of past life’s every time I sit for meditation. Is this ok?

Hi , I keep getting lost in visions of past life’s every time I sit for meditation. Is this ok? How do I stop this process?

Right now it seems like the visions have more power than your meditative awareness and analytical insight do.

You can start by journalling after your sitting. What happened… thoughts, images, sensations, emotions, energetic feeling, how it started, what was the trigger thought etc. This will help you bring more understanding of your patterns.

Also, learn some techniques that interrupt and question the nature of the experience you are having. Coming back to breath, self enquiry, peripheral awareness etc.

You can also try just continuing to sit once the session ends… so the vision process is interrupted. Sometimes the mind takes time to settle down… especially when we are starting off.
